Taste Test Tuesday: Tastefully Simple My Mug Cake

Happy Tuesday loves! Today is about cake. Now it is chocolate week here on blog. So of course Taste Test Tuesday is going to feature some chocolate.

For the Fall/Winter catalog season Tastefully Simple has this decadent Raspberry Chocolate cake that you can make in a mug, in the microwave!!! I know what you are thinking “a cake in the microwave” but no worries it’s actually good and very easy to make; cake mix and water, that’s it.

Now the beauty of all of this is the convenience of having a personal portion of cake and not feeling guilty for eating it. Moist chocolate cake with raspberry and add some chocolate sauce; a great way to change up your afternoon snack at work. Plus the mug is adorable and you can reuse it for coffee or tea.

We offer the mug cake as a gift pack so it makes a great gift or treat for yourself. Be sure to check out all the other tasty treats Tastefully Simple has to offer, their button is right here on our site.

Taste Test Tuesday: Ghirardelli Candy Making Chocolate

Do you love chocolate? The smooth, rich flavor of a great creamy treat. Our friends over at Ghirardelli has a candy making chocolate just for you.

We decided to use this candy and dipping chocolate to make chocolate covered strawberries. Who doesn’t love fruit with a side of chocolate?

A very easy chocolate to use and work with. All you have to do is cut the amount that you want to use and place it in a microwave safe bowl on medium high heat in 30 second intervals. You can also make a double broiler on top of the stove if you want.

Not many people use or even like white chocolate but we love it. You still get the same great taste of chocolate but just not as rich as milk chocolate. No worries this candy is available in milk chocolate as well.

Easter is on its way so let’s get ready to experiment with chocolate. Need some ideas here you go:

• Pretzels
• Cookies
• Apples
• Pineapples
• Nuts
• Make your own lollipops
• Ice cream cones

There are so many choices for you. Need some help just let us know.

Thanks so much for stopping by the kitchen today. Be sure to let us know if there is a topic you would like to discuss.

Taste Test Tuesday: Berry Burst and Spring Oreos

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Grab a seat at the counter and get a snack. Valentine’s Day is almost here, and the kids need a snack to take to school with them. We had a reader request that we try out some Oreo flavors, Berry Burst Ice Cream and Spring Blue & Yellow Creme

An Oreo is a cookie favorite for many of us. The memories of twisting off the top and dunking them into a cold glass of milk are coming back to us. These Oreos will allow you to create more memories. As you may have noticed Oreos has increased their product line tremendously over the years.

These Berry Burst Ice Cream Oreos make you feel like you are eating some strawberry and raspberry ice cream mixture with pieces of chocolate in the bowl. Reminds us of Friendly’s Black Raspberry ice cream….childhood memories.

Spring is just around the corner and Easter will be here soon. Be on the look out for these Spring themed Oreos. They come in Yellow and Sky Blue Creme. There is no flavor difference in these. It’s the same great Oreo creme flavor that we love just tinted in Yellow and Sky Blue. Different color but same taste!!

Be sure to check your local stores for these great flavors of Oreos. Thanks for stopping by today, feel free to come back again. Hint: tomorrow
