These breakfast biscuits are sweet, crunchy and baked. There are four biscuits to a pack and they come in three different flavors: Apple Cinnamon, Blueberry, and Golden Oat.

Nutritious Sustained Energy: The biscuits are specially baked to release carbohydrates through out your body and keep you energized.

Grab & Go: Quick snack for you to grab when you are on the go. You don’t always have time to fix a full breakfast.

Healthy: Great source of fiber and B Vitamins, packed with 18 grams of whole grain.

No artificial flavors, sweeteners, no high fructose corn syrup just real fruit and whole grain oats.

Pair it with Greek yogurt and fresh fruit to make a refreshing breakfast or mid-morning snack.

We hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s Taste Test Tuesday. As always feel free to provide any feedback.

4.7oz box for $5.25
Need dinner in a rush, then this meatloaf is the way to go. We used turkey instead of ground beef, added soy sauce, a slightly beaten egg, milk and some chili sauce ( you can use ketchup). We mixed everything together using our hands (this is messy but fun, hint: use your kids), made mini meat loaves and put them in a muffin pan and let them cook for 40 – 50 minutes at 350 degrees. Dinner is done!! The moist meatloaf was so good, you could taste the onions, garlic, black pepper and spices that they added into the mix. This mix is pretty healthy because there are oats in it, Yes we said OATS!! So you get to enjoy your meatloaf and not feel guilty about eating it either.
We hope you have enjoyed this months great food from Wildtree. We thank Tiara for allowing us to showcase these wonderful items. Don’t forget to check out her site to purchase your food. If you or anyone you know has any food products that you would like to see featured on Taste Test Tuesday please have them send us an email at southernrootskitchen [at] gmail [dot] com.

Taste Test Tuesday: DOLE Shakers & Fruit Crisps

Hello, Hello, Hello!! We missed you all these past two weeks but we’re back with some tasty and healthy treats for you. Spring is here, people have made New Year’s Resolutions to lose weight, eat healthy or just try new things. Well today for Taste Test Tuesday we have two new fruit products from DOLE, just for you.

DOLE Shakers

In a rush, don’t have your blender handy? Then this is definitely the smoothie for you. Grab a DOLE Shaker from the freezer aisle at your local grocery store, fill it up with juice (approximately 7 oz, there is a line on the bottle), shake it up and there is your fruit smoothie. They come in 3 flavors: Strawberry, Mixed Berry, Strawberry & Banana. Smooth, rich taste of fruit, yogurt and your favorite juice makes this drink a wonderful snack, or even a meal. This drink does have Pre & Probiotics in it, so you will get your live cultures in your diet, and it’s under 200 calories, low in fat, trans-fat free and filled with protein.

Each smoothie is considered a single serving (11oz) and can be found in your local grocery stores, so far we haven’t seen any of these for over $2.00 each. Grab a shaker, add your juice and let us know what you think!

DOLE Fruit Crisps

There are days when I really want a homemade dessert that just takes me back to my childhood. Sometimes I crave peach cobbler, other times it’s pecan pie, or apple crisp. Growing up we always went apple picking every fall, then come home and see how many dishes we could make with all the apples we picked up. One dish in particular was always my favorite: Apple Crisp. Something about the crunchy oat and warm apples put a smile on my face. DOLE came out with these single serving (4 oz) Fruit Crisps. These can be eaten at room tempature, chilled or warmed in the microwave. Each bowl has whole grain oats and brown sugar topping for you to add on top or mix in. The Fruit Crisps come in 3 flavors: Apple Cinnamon, Apple Pear and Peach. You can find these in the fruit aisle in your local grocery stores, if you shop at any club stores (Sam’s, BJ’s, Costco’s) they also have them their in bulk (the only way we buy them lol.)

Great for dessert, a quick snack, or just because. Grab a bowl and enjoy your fruit, that is filled with Vitamin C and contains whole grain oats.

See something in the store and not sure how it will taste? Let us know and we will be happy to try it out for you. We love suggestions. Send us a tweet, write on our wall on Facebook, comment on our blog or send us an email. We reply back.

Happy Taste Test Tuesday!!!
