Coming Soon: Kitchen Bookshelf

Periodically I go through and survey my readers.  One of the items that has come up is cookbooks. As much as we here at Southern Roots Kitchen love to cook, we also love to read and explore cookbooks. We are going to kick off our ‘Kitchen Bookshelf’ segment in a few weeks. This will segment will feature cookbooks from authors you may know and some you may not.

We will review each cookbook, select recipes from book and try them ourselves. We will then post the recipes and the cookbook information on our blog so you can check out what we did. There will also be a link to the site where the cookbook can be purchased, so you can get your own copy.

If you or someone you know is working on a cookbook, or has a cookbook and would like it featured on ‘Kitchen Bookshelf’ please have them contact Kimberlee at southernrootskitchen [at] gmail [dot] com as soon as possible so we can get them on the calendar. We are accepting pdf verisons of review copies as well.

Southern Roots Kitchen looks forward to featuring cookbooks on ‘Kitchen Bookshelf’ stay tuned!!

We’re happy to announce that we have a new logo. Thanks so much to Amanda from Creative On Paper, she captured our style and purpose so well.

Through out the month we will talk about fall vegetables, fall family traditions and kitchen decor with fall colors.

Do you and your family have any fall traditions?
Do you go apple picking? Or take a hayride at the pumpkin patch?

Let us know and you could be featured in our blog this month.

As always there are kitchen tips, Taste Test Tuesday’s and even some giveaways for you.

Happy October!!

Hello February

20140204-082557.jpg

The month of February is here, 28 days to follow your dreams, create new memories and live your best life. This is also Black History Month so I figured this was a great way to kick off my series of blog posts about my family, our history and why food is such a big part of our culture. Stay tuned for lots of pictures, stories and various recipes from my crazy but loving family.

We’ll also have some Taste Test Tuesday posts, more Kitchen Tips and some items for Foodie Friday.

Blessings,

Kimberlee
